BOTOX for Chronic Headaches
Treated Area: Head, Neck, and Shoulders
Chronic headaches, particularly those that do not respond well to traditional treatments, can be debilitating. Botox has been found to be effective in preventing headaches in adult patients with chronic migraine. The FDA approves Botox for the treatment of chronic migraines, which are defined as headaches occurring on 15 or more days per month with headache lasting four hours a day or longer. The treatment involves multiple injections around the head and neck to reduce the symptoms for a period typically lasting up to 12 weeks.
